Geogrids are used more and more widely. Geogrid was introduced into China in the 1980s. A few years ago, I asked someone at the engineering base: "Do you know what a geogrid is?"? "Many people shook their heads. With the expansion of the production scale of geogrids and the improvement and innovation of geogrid production technology, geogrids have been widely used in the construction of roads and railways, some wetlands, swamps, ports and other civil engineering projects. Handling is more keen to use geogrid. Due to the function and characteristics of geogrid, it can greatly reduce the workload of civil engineering and improve the work efficiency and quality of civil engineering. Geogrid series products are becoming more and more popular.
The advantages of applying geogrid in road engineering are as follows: (1) increase the integrity of subgrade, improve the bearing capacity of subgrade and prolong its service life. (2) prevent cracking and collapse of pavement structure to ensure driving safety. (3) the construction operation is simple, which not only saves labor and labor, but also has a short construction period. (4) it can be used as grass planting mesh pad on subgrade slope to beautify the environment. (5) instead of metal mesh, it can be used for false roof mesh in coal mine.
Grid laying: On a flat and compacted site, the main force direction (longitudinal) of the installed grid should be perpendicular to the direction of the embankment axis. The laying should be flat, without wrinkles, and as tight as possible. It should be fixed by inserting nails and earth-rock weight. The main stress direction of the laid grating is preferably the whole length without joints. The connection between the panels can be manually tied and overlapped, and the width of the overlap is not less than 10cm. If there are more than two layers of grilles, the layers should be staggered. After a large area is laid, the straightness should be adjusted as a whole. After filling a layer of soil, before rolling, the grille should be tightened manually or with equipment again, and the force should be uniform, so that the grille is in a state of tension and stress in the soil.

Application in road construction
In the process of pavement construction, geogrids are laid between the base layer and the asphalt layer to promote the organic combination of asphalt gravel and grids, which can give full play to its embedded advantages, enhance the anti-fatigue ability of the surface layer, and reduce the chance of reflection cracks. In addition, the grid has good extensibility, which can restrain the damage to the pavement caused by the load change, thereby prolonging the service life of the pavement.
